Candy Potato Pie [Vegan]

Vegan candy potato pie tastes similar to the traditional, however with out all of the refined sugar, dairy and eggs.  This candy potato pie is gluten free, calmly spiced, and makes the right wholesome dessert for the vacations or any time!

Components You Want for Candy Potato Pie [Vegan]

  • 1 pie crust, unbaked
  • 4 cups candy potato peeled and chopped into 1/2″ items (about 1 1/2 kilos unpeeled)*
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup almond milk or any non-dairy milk
  • 2 tablespoons tapioca starch
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Put together Candy Potato Pie [Vegan]

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180C). Add raw pie crust to pie pan and put aside.
  2. Steam the candy potatoes.  Add candy potatoes to a steamer basket and steam for 10-12 minutes or till candy potatoes are simply pierced with a fork.
  3. Switch the steamed candy potatoes and remaining components to the bowl of a meals processor.  Course of till utterly easy and no lumps of candy potato stay, about 2-3 minutes. Pour the candy potato combination into the ready pie crust and easy the highest.
  4. Bake the pie for 40-45 minutes, or till the pie is about within the center, has darkened in coloration, and appears dry on prime.  Test the pie after 20 minutes and canopy the perimeters of the crust with tinfoil whether it is beginning to get too brown.
  5. Take away from the oven and permit to chill to room temperature.  Cowl and chill till able to eat.  This pie might be served chilled or at room temperature.
